Supported three MNOs in a country in the MENA region to plan for the launch of 5G via a tri-party active sharing arrangement
Project experience | Transformation
The problem
- The three major operators of a nation requested support with a business case analysis for launching 5G via active sharing with the goal of achieving the population coverage targets provided by the regulator within a certain time frame
- Previous network sharing of any form had been minimal and each operator ran their network on independent infrastructure developed with the help of independent vendor contracts
The solution
- We provided business case development including
- forecast of 5G adoption and data traffic on the basis of previous trends and international benchmarks
- site planning
- estimation of cost savings from various scenarios of implementation for 5G in the region with active sharing
- We performed an in-depth assessment of the technical, operational and regulatory feasibility of various modes of 5G implementation via active sharing and recommended the most suitable approach
- We developed an implementation plan, including definition of key deal principles, proposal for a high-level delivery plan and impact assessment of the recommended model on each operator’s activities

The result
Analysys Mason provided a comprehensive study on the estimated cost savings and potential constraints associated with each scenario and recommended the most appropriate solutions for each decision
