Analysys Mason helped a Norwegian local broadband operator in determining its five-year business plan and growth strategy
Project experience | Strategy
The problem
- Due to changing conditions in the broadband market, including the transition from DSL and radio to fibre, Analysys Mason was engaged to conduct a broadband market analysis to support the client in forming its five-year business plan and growth strategy
- Additionally, the client had recently acquired another local broadband operator, increasing its customer base by more than 10%, and this required integration
The solution
- The client was a local operator in an area where the potential for fibre deployment was not yet fully exploited, and we assisted with planning further fibre infrastructure deployment
- Analysys Mason identified the capex needed for deployment in the available areas based on the landscape
- the analysis of the potential customer base was conducted based on population growth projection, purchasing power, and other attributes considered variables to estimated ARPU
- we also assessed current and potential competition from both fibre and fixed wireless access (FWA) providers
- each municipality was analysed separately
- Moreover, we supported the client during the post-merger integration and advised on how to increase penetration rate in the areas of the target company
