Conducted a market study on the data centre, enterprise fibre, and mobile backhaul markets in South-East Asia for a leading private equity fund

The problem

• A leading private equity fund was looking to identify investment opportunities in the data centre, enterprise fibre, and mobile backhaul markets across five developing South-East Asian countries
• It engaged Analysys Mason to perform an independent market study to assess these areas

The solution

• For each of the three focus areas, we performed a review of each country, assessing areas such as:
  • current market demand and expected growth
  • supply landscape and competitive dynamics
  • regulation 
  • business economics (e.g. operating costs, pricing) 
• We next performed a comparative assessment for each focus area where we determined the relative attractiveness of each country by considering the unique demand drivers as well as the challenges present
• Lastly, we performed an initial identification of potential targets for acquisition or investment, focusing on the markets which were deemed to have the highest potential
