TowerXchange Meetup Americas 2023

Charles Murray, Partner, Analysys Mason, will be attending TowerXchange Meetup Americas 2023, which will be held in Florida on 11-12 July.

On Day 1, during Roundtable II, Charles will present on 'Why are internet service providers entering the 5G market?' 

On Day 2, during Roundtable III, Charles will present on 'Satellite connectivity - a solution for remote areas?' Later in the day, Charles will moderate the session 'How to overcome operational challenges to boost efficiency and accountability'.

About the event

After a few quieter years, the tower sector across Latin America has regained its vigour. Brazil and Chile have launched initial 5G deployment in urban areas, while the rest of the region is expected to see sizable densification of 4G networks. Governments are incentivising the sector to provide rural connectivity and build in remote areas.

The M&A space has seen significant movement in 2022, with market leaders SBA Communications and Phoenix Tower International announcing portfolio acquisitions in Brazil and Chile respectively. The formation of América Móvil’s spin-off Sitess is expected to shift market dynamics in a major way.

Tower companies across the region are seeing ways to modernise and seize opportunities for growth not only in the traditional steel-and-grass segment, but in adjacent areas such as fibre and edge data centres.
