From pixels to insights: AI/ML is transforming the Earth observation big data market
Recent advances in AI/ML capabilities, foundation models and the ease of accessing satellite data will result in a significant rise in the use of Earth observation (EO) big data. Indeed, the adoption rate of EO big data is expected to increase substantially as AI/ML solutions become more common and vertical-specific across a range of industries, thus enhancing their value proposition and market reach.
Revenue in the EO big data segment has been growing rapidly, but has not met the expectations of truly momentous growth. However, Analysys Mason’s Satellite-based Earth observation: trends and forecasts 2023–2033 forecasts that revenue in the EO big data market will grow at a CAGR of 23.3% between 2023 and 2033 to reach USD3.6 billion.
