Fielding the heavy equipment satcom opportunity
Much of the broadband connected vehicle opportunity to date has been around Starlink’s new RV service, which NSR, an Analysys Mason Company, has previously noted has the greatest growth potential in absolute terms. However, the majority of this revenue will be taken by Starlink with limited opportunity for others given pricing factors. For other satellite operators, service providers and terminal makers, a less glamorous, but arguably a much more realistic and potentially lucrative opportunity is heavy equipment – machines used in the agriculture and construction industry. What is the opportunity here and how can other satellite operators enter this market?
