FTTP operators need to consider demographic factors to maximise subscriber take-up
Operators worldwide are at different stages of rolling out FTTP. Operators must ensure good subscriber take-up for their fibre roll-outs, but to achieve this, they need to understand the demographic characteristics of FTTP subscribers and must identify the groups that are more likely to adopt the technology. This article draws on the results of Analysys Mason’s 2020 Connected Consumer Survey to understand the demographic characteristics of consumers interested in subscribing to fibre or those that are already subscribing to such services. We also assess the implications of these trends for fixed broadband operators.
