Infobip Shift 2024: telecoms operators are working to raise developers’ awareness of network APIs

Analysys Mason attended Infobip’s flagship developer conference (Infobip Shift) in Zadar, Croatia from 15–17 September 2024. The conference marked an important milestone in the push for network API adoption with a concerted effort to engage developers and promote the potential of network APIs. The presence of operators such as Deutsche Telekom, Orange and Telefónica at a developer-centric event underscores the desire with which telecoms operators seek to spark innovation and find new ways to monetise their networks; there is a clear understanding that collaboration is essential.
This article summarises how telecoms industry players participated at the conference, developers’ attitudes towards network APIs and what else the telecoms industry needs to do to drive developer engagement and find new and more lucrative use cases for network APIs.
