Challenger Open RAN integrators must solve operators’ problems and develop end-to-end partnerships
The diversification of the RAN supply chain, driven by the adoption of Open RAN standards, could offer opportunities for challenger integrators to take a share of the RAN professional services opportunity. However, the marketplace is likely to be crowded and challengers will face significant barriers to success because of the continued dominance of incumbent vendor integrators. Challengers should use their strengths to solve the problems that telecoms operators face with multi-vendor networks and form partnerships that help them to rival the end-to-end (E2E) capabilities of incumbent integrators.
