"Enterprises are starting to see the value in shared edge and private network infrastructure."

This report examines ten uses cases for edge compute technology combined with private wireless networks. It analyses their structure, the ecosystem that supports them and their level of maturity in terms of commercialisation. For each use case, we look at the factors that have led the enterprise/organisation to opt for edge and private networks rather than cloud or other alternatives (for example, latency, security, autonomy from central cloud).

Our analysis of the underlying drivers for edge compute/private wireless network adoption underpins our conclusions about the importance of these technologies and their likely trajectory.

Questions answered in this report

  • What are the key trends in the deployment of private wireless networks and edge compute?
  • Are enterprises using private on-premises networks and edge compute platforms or are they using public shared platforms?
  • What are the key drivers for the adoption of edge compute with private wireless networks?
  • How are these trends evolving, and are they the same as those anticipated 3 or 4 years ago
  • What level of maturity has the market reached in terms of adoption?
