This report presents the results of a survey of operators on their views of network sharing. It looks at the different types of approaches taken, partnerships, drivers, the quantifiable benefits (with further details on capex and opex), timeframes, challenges and the possible future trends. The report also provides Analysys Mason’s assessment of the operators’ responses to network sharing.

The survey was conducted in 3Q 2022 and 79 operators responded from around the world, particularly in Asia–Pacific, Europe and North America. The respondents were from operators’ CTO teams.

Topics analysed in this report

  • Which network-sharing models operators are adopting
  • How successful network-sharing agreements have been for operators
  • Which network layers and services operators are sharing
  • Who are the partners involved in cross-sector sharing agreements, and what the drivers are of such arrangements
