This report examines the questions that industry leaders in the satellite communications (satcom) and telecoms industries want answers to in 2025. It is based on burning questions gathered from space and telecoms players as they registered for Analysys Mason’s annual breakfast briefing in Washington, D.C.
The answers to these burning questions form a unique source of information about industry trends and issues that demand attention.
This year’s registrants generated 450 responses, illustrating the industry’s growing curiosity and concern about the future of satellite and space technology.
The responses span a wide range of topics, although most fall into four categories:
- LEO satellites
- SpaceX Starlink and Amazon Kuiper broadband connectivity
- China/sovereign constellations
- new strategies for direct-to-device (D2D) communication, artificial intelligence (AI), multi-orbit communications and geostationary Earth orbit (GEO).
In this report, we discuss five of the most commonly asked (burning) questions in the satcom industry today in order to provide thought-provoking insights and actionable strategies for senior executives in satcom and telecoms organisations worldwide and to engage in discussions that will shape the trajectory of the satcom industry.
Our expert panel discusses the trends shaping the satcom market in 2025. Topics include Starlink, D2D, the satellite launch bottleneck, sovereign constellations and broadband.
