"Operators are increasingly partnering with network equipment providers for their network cloud deployments."

In 2024, cloud-based deployments returned to 2022 levels, exceeding those of 2023. However, 63% of 5G cores were deployed as vertically integrated stacks, offset only by Open RAN deployments, of which just 13% were vertically integrated. As a result, operators are beginning to reconsider disaggregated strategies, increasingly turning to the perceived safety of network equipment providers (NEPs).

Information included in this report

  • Breakdown and analysis of the use of the four 5G core and vRAN/Open RAN deployment models: vertically integrated stacks, DIY private clouds, public cloud provider (PCP) cloud platforms and operator-packaged platforms
  • Insights about the main deals for each deployment model
  • Analysis of the leading vendors for each deployment model

This report is based on our 5G network cloud deployment tracker.
