Several Tier 1 communications service providers (CSPs) have committed to delivering Level 4 autonomous networks (L4 ANs) in the next few years to reap the benefits of efficiency, improved customer experience and increased agility, but early attempts have had limited success.
This report outlines why CSPs considering a transformation to L4 ANs should first look to their application vendors and then consider further development based on multi-agent platforms and frameworks.
